Marty Ryan
This fortnight’s session from the Dingle Record Shop features Marty Ryan from Limerick. Marty is an original singer songwriter who created the indie Alt/Rock project Anna’s Anchor.
Ryan strives to create “ honest songs for honest people” and in the process conjures up tunes of genuine character with intriging storylines.

Nella
This fortnight’s session from the Dingle Record Shop features the Cork born singer songwriter Nella. Likened to Ellie Goulding, Nella worked with with three time Emmy award winning composer Russel Brower as the vocalist on Cantile of Sacrifice - a song for the World of Warcraft game Legion.
Both Nella and Brower dropped in to the Green Street shop for a chat and some tunes with Mazz recently.

Sessions from the shop has a very special podcast this week. Having been invited to the Electric Picnic and setting up The Dingle Record Shop in Stradbally, Mazz has a trio of exquisite sessions for the delectation of her listeners. Regular visitors to Dingle Greeneshine (Mary Greene with Noel and Ellie Shine(0:0)) are first up to record a session in the relocated music shop. Up and coming Dingle Band (and definitely ones to watch!), Strange Attractor(14:35) brought their funky blues to Laois and they too recorded a session. Bluegrass band Pilgrim Street(28:20) complete these Electric Picnic recordings.

Featuring Kilshannig
at Sessions form the Shop
This week's session from the shop is from a Dutch band called 'Kilshannig' whose members come from North Holland.
With their substantial repertoire, Kilshannig tries to give an overview of the large variety of traditional Irish music, both in ballads and in tunes. However, contemporary music (though modelled upon tradition!) as well as music from other Celtic regions are also represented. In addition, the singing of Kilshannig is characterized by their polyphonic performance of ballads, all after own arrangements.
